Learning Content
In my course, you will learn about:
- What is a preregistration?
- Why is it important to preregister?
- How do I create a preregistration?
Format
90 min in-person preregistration intro workshop
Prerequisites
This course is aimed at (early-career) psychological researchers who have little experience with preregistration or would like to learn more about it. Ideally, participants should bring a laptop.
Why am I teaching this course?
Preregistering your first study can be pretty difficult, as there is a lot of material out there that can be hard to navigate. This course aims to support researchers in taking this first step by providing basic knowledge about preregistration and where to start.
Who am I?
This course was developed by DRA Trainer Lisa Spitzer (Leibniz Institute for Psychology, ZPID). I specialize in preregistration and completed my PhD last year with a focus on preregistration meta-research. My work explored psychological researchers' motivations and obstacles regarding preregistration and how to improve preregistration templates.
Location
The workshop will be held in the room S 134 at the main building of the Human Science Faculty of Cologne University (maps link: https://maps.app.goo.gl/qEvjgHaDnf9pZLYw9). The room is at the first floor, here's a plan of the building: https://verwaltung.uni-koeln.de/abteilung54/content/sachgebiet_4/lehrraeume/lageplaene_der_hoersaele/hf_hauptgebaeude/s_134/index_ger.html#e124797
