Evidence-Based Training Session
Laura Carter
16:00 - 18:00
Room: Online
In this session we invite an expert in pedagogy to introduce several key evidence-based practices for delivering training, which you will be able to further explore in the didactics sessions a couple of weeks later (both in terms of diving deeper into a particular subject, and also putting the theory into practice in how you deliver your session). At the end of this session, participants should be able to: 1. explain the concept of evidence-based learning (E-BL) 2. use specific concepts (rooted in E-BL) when developing their own training 3. find further resources to continue learning about E-BL 4. _(future, aspirational, big picture)_ design teaching interventions based on learning theory, and test their effectiveness This session is based on a blend of: - Ambrose, S. A., Bridges, M. W., DiPietro, M., Lovett, M. C., Norman, M. K., & Mayer, R. E. (2023). **How Learning Works: Eight Research-Based Principles For Smart Teaching (2nd ed.)**.
