DESCRIPTION:\nGenerative AI is not only significantly affecting the world 
 of software development\, but also rapidly changing the way research is co
 nducted. This online workshop offers a structured opportunity to explore b
 oth the practical use of AI-based coding tools for data analysis and the b
 roader questions they raise for scientific integrity and responsibility.\n
 During the workshop\, we will combine structured hands-on exercises with g
 roup discussions to:\n\nget to know the features and limitations of the va
 rious AI-based coding assistants\nexplore how generative AI can help writi
 ng reusable\, well documented and version controlled analysis code\ndiscus
 s when AI assistance supports research and when it conflicts with good sci
 entific practice\ndevelop your own criteria for when and how to use AI-bas
 ed coding tools in your research\n\n \nBy the end of the workshop\, you w
 ill be equipped to make informed and conscious decisions about how to choo
 se and use AI-based coding assistants in your own research.\nPrerequisites
 : You should have some (at least fundamental) experience in scientific cod
 ing (e.g. in R or Python).\n \nAbout the Trainer\nDr Ilona Lipp is an int
 erdisciplinary neuroscientist with expertise in specialised data analysis 
 workflows\, working as a freelance trainer and coach for scientists and as
  an Open Science officer.\n \nAbout the Training\nThis training is part o
 f Research Software Week and funded by the Berlin University Alliance. \n
