The RDM Rope: Step-by-Step to a Research Data Management Strategy Tailored to Your Needs

Europe/Zurich
Description

This workshop is designed for researchers and teams new to Research Data Management (RDM) who feel overwhelmed by its complexity and uncertain about where to start.

Using the metaphor of a "rope" to represent an RDM strategy, participants will learn how to approach RDM as a tool to navigate common challenges, symbolized as mountains and canyons.

The 90-minute session will introduce foundational RDM concepts, such as naming conventions and data storage, provide guidance on prioritizing first steps, and explain the roles of RDM experts and the DRA.

Interactive exercises and real-world examples will illustrate how a well-thought-out strategy can support effective and sustainable research practices.

By the end of the workshop, attendees will have a clear framework to begin implementing RDM in their own work.

Workshop led by DRA trainer, Benjamin Golub-Overbeck.

Limited spaces (max. 20 participants)!
