Description

The course introduces Git as a modern version control system to first time git users that work on the command line. 

Learning Objectives

  • Introduction to concept of version control management and git terminology
  • Getting started with a central repository
  • Command line operations on the repository
  • Collaboration convention for working on a repository in a team

Format 

90 minute online course

Target Audience

First time git users. For example new HPC users, that need to do command line work on the remote cluster.

Requirements

Command line git installation and (in best case) access to a central Git repository site (e.g. GitLab or GitHub account)
